Why?
In art and english we studdyed about diffrent renasunces through the ages and one was the Chicano art movement. To learn more we had professor that teaches cultural studdys come to Chicano park with us and tell us about the history of the park and about some of the murals.
My favorite mural
I am not sure of the acutual meaning behind this painted crate but here is what I can gather from it. we can see on one side there is a face that looks like an aztec sculpture that is crying whos tears make up water that is slowly covering it. There was a common theme of the old Aztec homeland called Aztlan that they are some day to return to. This could represent a sdaness that the ancent home land is ocupied by western civilization and un reachibol to the people. I really like this because of the colors on it. It really poped out from its background aganced the freeway. The perspective I took this I think makes it pop out from the frame vs if I took it head on.
